kakiang bungalows ubud hotel lobby

Hotel lobby
It’s odd how we stumble upon gems online, like our next accommodation pick in Ubud – Kakiang Bungalows. The hotel’s website has two language options, English and Japanese, while prices are quoted in Japanese Yen; which makes us think that Kakiang Bungalows heavily targets the Japanese market. Ramada Camakila lobby

The Ramada Resort Camakila is located in the proximity of popular tourist hangouts like Kuta and Seminyak. As such, it is of little surprise that our travel agent readily suggested this hotel to our travelling party, given our requirement for a hotel that is not located smack right in the middle of Kuta, but close enough to it. From the first time we arrive, it is obvious that this hotel is indeed popular with holiday makers, Europeans families in particular. The area surrounding it has a decent range of eateries, while access to public beach is available via the hotel’s back entrance. It is good to note that this very beach links all the way from Seminyak (i.e. the beach just outside Ku-de-ta) to Kuta (e.g. in front of Hard Rock Hotel).

The building and the room is very modern and clean (comparing to the few other hostels I’ve seen in Europe), with good amenities. The room I stayed in was shared by six persons, with three bunk beds, a small table and a shared …
