17 December 2015 No Comment

Travellers heading to Mount Bromo in East Java, Indonesia should note that due to recent rise in volcanic activity, the area within 2.5 km radius from the crater has been closed off to visitors. Due to this restriction visitors temporarily will not be able to visit some of the popular tourist spots within Tengger Caldera, such as the savannah, whispering sand (Pasir Berbisik), and climbing the Bromo crater. Sunrise and sunset viewing is still possible from the viewing platform at mount Penanjakan.
